Hew Dundas spent nearly 25 years in the Oil & Gas industry and was Head of Legal, Company Secretary and Group Insurance Manager at a substantial (FTSE250) oil company before becoming a full-time International Arbitrator and Mediator in both O&G and general commercial disputes.
He is a Panel Arbitrator in England, Scotland, Beijing, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong and is a member of the London Court of International Arbitration, the Swiss Arbitration Association, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and other leading arbitral institutions. He co-drafted the Arbitration (Scotland) Bill 2005. He lectures on International Petroleum Law and on International Dispute Resolution Law at CEPMLP (University of Dundee, Scotland).
He writes and publishes widely (including London, Houston, Hong Kong, Moscow and Almaty) on UK and international arbitration law and related topics; his website www.dundasarbitrator.com has >430,000 words of publications accessible free of charge.
Hew Dundas has been elected President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (approx. 11,000 members in 100 countries) for 2007.
