Professor Ole Spiermann specialises in International Law and International Commercial Arbitration with a special interest in legal argumentation and dispute settlement.

Since 2002 his research has been centered around the application of law, both national and international, within International Commercial Arbitration, including such institutions as the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.

In 2000, Professor Spiermann was awarded the PhD degree by the University of Cambridge for his thesis "The Rise of the International Judiciary - International Legal Argument in the Permanent Court of International Justice".
