Arbitration is an area dependant on diverse sources, e.g., conventions, legislation, rules, cases and journals. It is not very common to find all these sources in one place. The Arbitration CD-ROM brings together a large amount of vital arbitration materials in a readily accessible form. It puts at your fingertips a growing collection of the most essential materials on international commercial arbitration.

The materials contained on this CD ROM include:

The CD ROM uses Verity software to index, search and display the data contained on the CD-ROM. Verity allows you to access the information by browsing, using a table of contents and by searching for any words or phrases. It uses the Internet Explorer, which makes it possible to browse the contents of the CD forward and backward and to print. The CD is user-friendly with hyperlink and full text searches. The effective built in search engine allows you to search by author, the title or key words contained in title or in the full text. If the document(s) chosen contains footnotes, they are displayed at the end of the document. By clicking on a footnote reference in the text, the view will jump to the appropriate place at the end of the document where the selected footnote can be found. On the other hand, the CD ROM is fully networkable - it can be used by a number of users if put in network. However, the price differs if the CD is to be used by more than one user and gets even higher if it is to be used by more than 6 users. Moreover, This complete library gets continually updated. I wonder how much dose it cost for this to get it updated?

To sum up, the availability of such an enormous amount of material in this quality on a slim CD ROM combined with an effective search engine makes the Arbitration CD ROM an extremely helpful tool. It operates as an extensive and very well organised library. It is a must for any arbitrator, in-house counsel and academics in the field of international arbitration. However, the price of the CD is relatively high for an individual, but not for a law firm or a law school library.
