Introduction
We start 2011 with a regular issue covering a variety of topics. This issue includes articles complementing our TDM 4 (2010) China special, various advocacy related materials, case comments, the write-up of the discussion initiated by our first OGEMID Guest Kaj Hobér about "The Investor as the Initiator of Emerging Trends in Investment Treaty Interpretation" and a selection of book reviews.
We are very pleased that Oxford University Press has kindly provided permission to make Thomas W. Wälde's contribution to "Chapter Arbitration Under International Investment Agreements - A Guide to the Key Issues" (edited by Catherine Yannaca-Small, ISBN: 9780195340693, May 2010) available on TDM. Chapter 8 "Equality of Arms" in Investment Arbitration: Procedural Challenges can be downloaded here www.transnational-dispute-management.com/downloads/TW-Chapter8.pdf
For 2011 we have a number of special features in preparation:
Professor A.F.M. Maniruzzaman (University of Portsmouth) and Gary Born (Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP) will be editing a TDM special on "International Business Dispute Resolution by ADR in Asia".
Another special issue will deal with "The European Union and International Investment Protection Law and Arbitration", for which Dr. Richard Happ (Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH) and Prof. Prof. Dr. Christian Tietje (Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg) will act as guest editors. The call for papers for these and other specials will be available on TDM and circulated on OGEMID shortly.
