Summary

HC/SUM 4435 of 2022 ("SUM 4435") was the defendant's application to set aside an order made by the High Court (the "Enforcement Order") granting the claimant permission to enforce an arbitration award made in Beijing, the People's Republic of China ("PRC") (the "Award"). HC/RA 23 of 2023 ("RA 23") was the defendant's appeal against the Assistant Registrar's order dismissing his application to file a further affidavit to respond to the reply affidavits filed by the claimant and its PRC lawyer in SUM 4435.

I dismissed the defendant's appeal as well as his application to set aside the Enforcement Order for the reasons set out below.
