Dr. Sergey Ripinsky

Dr. Sergey Ripinsky is consultant on international economic law. He advises public and private clients on matters of investment, trade, dispute settlement / arbitration and other areas of international law and policy.
Previously Sergey was legal affairs officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. He contributed to a wide range of UNCTAD publications, advised governments and delivered technical assistance and training to state officials and diplomats.
Prior to joining UNCTAD, Sergey was a research fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London.
He authored a book on Damages in International Investment Law and a number of articles on investment- and trade-related topics.
Sergey holds a Ph.D. from St. Petersburg State University (Russia) and an LL.M. in International and European Law from Maastricht University (The Netherlands).
