Rajesh Pillai

Rajesh Pillai is a lawyer based in London who undertakes commercial litigation and arbitration work. He is qualified both as a barrister in England and as an attorney in New York (2003). Rajesh's practice covers a variety of sectors with a focus on banking and finance, commercial fraud, jurisdiction and conflicts of law disputes, insolvency, insurance and reinsurance and professional negligence. Rajesh has a longstanding interest in international law and inter-state disputes, in particular under WTO law. He has recently acted for a state in a long-running dispute over an aircraft procurement fraud and in 2008 was appointed to the UK Government's panel of junior counsel. Rajesh is also regularly instructed by domestic and international companies to act in arbitrations and before the English courts.
Rajesh holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Oxford (1998); a BA (Hons) in Law from the University of Cambridge (2000); and an LLM in International Law from New York University School of Law (2002). Rajesh was an intern to the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organisation in summer 2004.
