Dr. Mauro Rubino-Sammartano

Mauro Rubino-Sammartano is a Chartered Arbitrator and as such an associate tenant of the above set of barrister's chambers in London. He acts as co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator and chairman of arbitration panels. He presides the European Court of Arbitration, he is Chairman Emeritus of the Union International des Avocats, of the IBA International Construction Contracts Committee and has chaired two other IBA Committees: the Sales Contracts Committee and the Mediation Committee. He is also Honorary Secretary General if the Fédération des Barreaux d'Europe. He has been the recorder of Desio and, in such a capacity, a judge at the Court of Justice of Monza. He has been teaching international arbitration at the Universities of Padua and Milan.
He is the author of many textbooks, amongst which on international arbitration, on Italian domestic arbitration, on construction contracts and on public policy. He regularly lectures on arbitration.
He is a senior partner of LawFed BRSA, a law firm in Milan and Verona, where he chairs the arbitration group. He is often required to challenge awards. His practice is largely based on construction joint ventures, investments and sales of goods.
LawFed BRSA has an international practice and acts for non-Italian clients vis a vis Italian enterprises and for Italian clients vis a vis non-Italian parties.
Mr. Rubino-Sammartano is fluent in French, English and Italian.
