Ferdous Rahman

Ferdous Rahman is assistant professor of law in Jahanagirnagar University, Bangladesh where she teaches the courses relevant to international investment and business and their economic analysis. Currently she is pursuing her doctoral study at the Department of Private International Law in University of Szeged, Hungary with Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship. Her research area is focused on the litigations against sovereign by private parties. She holds keen research interest in sovereign debt, international investment law, investment dispute settlement, sovereign immunity and international procedural law.
She worked as legal expert in the renewable energy projects of Infrastructure Development Company Ltd. funded by the World Bank, IMF, JICA, GiZ, ADB and more. She was awarded with the Youth Excellence Scheme by the Chinese Government in 2015 for LLM study in international economic law. She also specialised in commercial law from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She received gold medal for her outstanding academic result. Her research papers have been published in various journals relating to the bailout strategy in sovereign default, question of sovereign immunity in commercial litigations, fiscal autonomy of the local government and so on. She also completed multiple research projects funded by the University Grant Commission, Bangladesh, the Jahangirnagar University Research Fund successfully.
