Professor Dr. Stephen Minas
Profile
Dr Stephen Minas is a Professor of Law at the School of Transnational Law, Peking University, a senior research fellow of the Transnational Law Institute of King's College London and a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law (WCEL) and its Climate Change Specialist Group. Stephen is a member and former chair of the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee, which serves the UN Climate Convention and Paris Agreement, and a member of the Advisory Board of the UN's Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN). He has consulted to or collaborated with a variety of international organizations and think-tanks.
Stephen's research and practice are focused on climate change, sustainable finance and clean energy. This research agenda draws on areas of legal doctrine and practice including public international law, private international law, energy law, financial law and European Union law.
Stephen completed a PhD in law at King's College London, an MSc in International Relations at the London School of Economics, Honours degrees in law and history at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
