Professor Lise Bosman

Professor Lise Bosman is the Executive Director of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and Senior Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration. She is also Adjunct Professor at the University of Cape Town, South Africa where she lectures in Commercial and Investment Arbitration. Prof. Bosman is a Court Member of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre (LACIAC). She also sits on the Board of Directors of the African Arbitration Association (AFAA).
Prof. Bosman is the General Editor of ICCA's prestigious seven-volume loose-leaf International Handbook on Commercial Arbitration, and has recently published the second edition of her book, Arbitration in Africa: A Practitioner's Guide (Kluwer Law International, 2021).
Prof. Bosman specializes in international commercial and investment arbitration. She has been active both in private arbitration practice and in intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations for over twenty-five years. She is passionate about promoting and developing African arbitration expertise and the practice of arbitration on the continent.
