Andreea I. Nica

Andreea Nica is a dual Swiss and Romanian qualified lawyer with experience in assisting States, State-owned entities and large business clients with global operations in complex international arbitration proceedings under various rules (including UNCITRAL, ICC, SCAI, VIAC) governed by various laws and seated in various jurisdictions (particularly in Switzerland), both as counsel and tribunal secretary. She also advises on complex investigations, cross-border litigation, private international and European law matters, as well as on a wide range of contractual, corporate and regulatory matters. Andreea holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law (2013) and a Master's Degree in Private Law (2014) from the University of Bucharest. She also pursued the LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) (2018) (summa cum laude) at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the International Academy for Arbitration Law, Paris (2018). She is a member of the Bucharest Bar (2013, admitted summa cum laude) and of the Zurich Bar (since 2022, initially admitted in 2020 in Geneva). Before joining Bär & Karrer AG, she practiced with leading international law firms in Geneva (2018-2021) and in Bucharest (2013-2017). Andreea is also a Co-founder and Co-Chair of Young Romanian Arbitration Practitioners (YRAP) (2021-present).
