Dr. Luca Pantaleo

Dr. Luca Pantaleo is an Assistant Professor of European Union Law at the University of Cagliari. Luca has a PhD in International and EU Law from the University of Macerata (2013). Prior to joining the University of Cagliari, he worked at the University of Luxembourg, at the Asser Institute, and at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Luca's research focuses mostly on the law of EU external relations. In particular, in the last few years he has dealt extensively with EU trade and investment agreements such as CETA and the like. He has authored more than 40 publications, including his monograph titled The Participation of the EU in International Dispute Settlement. Lessons from EU Investment Agreements (Asser Press/Springer, 2019). On top of his academic appointments, Luca is also a judge of the European Law Moot Court (ELMC), and regularly carries out research commissioned by public and private actors as an independent legal expert.
