Jonathan's practice focuses on investment treaty and international commercial arbitration, and he has acted on various complex cross-border disputes conducted under ICC, LCIA, SIAC and ICSID Rules as well as those administered on an ad-hoc basis. These arbitrations have involved a range of applicable laws. In addition, Jonathan has previously acted as Tribunal Secretary in several matters. He also has experience in commercial litigation in the Commercial Court in London. He has published various articles on all aspects of arbitration including arbitrator's conduct and ISDS post-Achmea. He is also actively involved in pro bono matters and has provided support to various non-profit organisations such as Reprieve and The Signals Network with respect to protecting whistleblowers and victims of both the UK's drone-strike policy and extra-judicial executions in Syria, Afghanistan, and Yemen.
