Introduction

On 16 June 2000, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes ("ICSID" or "the Centre") received from World Duty Free Company Limited, a company incorporated in the Isle of Man ("World Duty Free" or the "Claimant"), a request for arbitration of the same date against the Republic of Kenya ("Kenya" or the "Respondent").
