Emerging markets need to upgrade their legal infrastructure, particularly those related to arbitration rules and regulation, experts said at the second day of the Annual Investment Meeting 2014 in Dubai. Louis Wells, Professor of international management at the Harvard Business School, said that despite the remarkable growth emerging markets could achieve in attracting foreign investments, these countries should work harder to improve their arbitration system.

- ILI Training: Innovations in Investor-State Arbitration
The seminar features an expert examination of new treaties and agreements, such as the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) draft Protocol on Investment, the investment provisions of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) has announced Faisal Rashid Al Sahouti's appointment as CEO.
Faisal Rashid Al Sahouti joined the QICDRC in 2011 and received his legal training both in Qatar and the UK, where he has obtained a Master's degree in law at Nottingham University. Mr Al Sahouti, replaces Robert Musgrove, who was previously the CEO of the Civil Justice Council of England and Wales and who has served as CEO of QICDRC for nearly four years.
