Professor Kim Talus
Profile
Kim Talus is the Professor of European Energy Law at UEF Law School and the founder and co-director of its Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law (CCEEL). He is also a permanent part-time Professor of Energy Law at University of Helsinki and a partner of Energy and Regulation Partners in Zug, Switzerland.
His extensive experience in research and consultancy has centered around international, comparative and European energy law.
He has authored and co-authored articles in more than 200 publications and his work has awarded him with many recognitions and his research is referenced in the case law of the European Court of Justice.
In the past, he has held positions at Tulane Law School (Director of Tulane Center for Energy Law 2018 - 2023), University College London, University of Houston and University of Bonn. In addition to his role as the Editor-in-Chief for OGEL, he is a member of the Editorial Board for AIPN's Journal of World Energy Law and Business.
He works frequently with companies, public authorities and governments in various areas of energy law and policy. His recent assignments relate to EU and international law aspects of large-scale infrastructure investments, details of EU energy regulation as well as investment disputes and the energy transition related laws and regulations.
