Tim Martin has over 30 years of experience in more than 50 countries in the international petroleum industry. He has been a Country General Manager, Finance Director, Commercial Manager, General Counsel, Special Counsel and a Petroleum Economist.
Tim has been the President of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He was twice voted their Member of the Year and has received its prestigious President's Award and Legacy Award. Tim's peers have selected him as one of the International Who's Who of Oil & Gas Lawyers and as one of the International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitrators, where he has been described as the "go to guy for energy disputes" and as a "true innovator" in international oil & gas law.
Tim has extensive experience as an arbitrator, mediator, expert and counsel. He is a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Tim is a member of the LCIA and is on the Board of Directors of the American Arbitration Association. He has been elected to the arbitrator panels of the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre, and the Bahrain Chamber of Dispute Resolution.
Tim is the Chair of the Executive Committee and the Editorial Board of the Journal of World Energy Law & Business, a leading journal in international energy, which is published by the Oxford University Press. He is a global faculty member at CEPMLP at the University of Dundee, Scotland. He has acted as an advisor to governments and industry organizations. Tim has published and spoken extensively on the energy sector in North & South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
