Stephen Stein

Stephen W. Stein is a member of the Corporate Department in New York and graduated from Princeton University in 1959, Columbia University Law School in 1962, and received a Master of Laws degree from New York University Law School in International Law in 1963. Mr. Stein is a member of the Bar of New York. Mr. Stein has been engaged for 30 years in the practice of international project financing with special emphasis on overseas natural resources and energy projects. Mr. Stein has been involved in numerous international transactions in developing countries involving LNG projects, power plants, mining projects, petrochemical projects, gas pipelines, and oil and gas field development projects.
Mr. Stein has represented sovereign governments and governmental instrumentalities in Asian and African countries. He is a past president of the American Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and served as chairman of the Subcommittee on Construction Financing and BOT Projects of the Committee on International Construction Projects of the International Bar Association and as co-chairman of the African Law Committee of the Section of International Law and Practice of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the International and Comparative Law Center. Mr. Stein has lectured and published extensively in his field.
