Dr. Despina Fruth Oprisan is a graduate of the Law School of Bucharest University with 30 years of legal experience. Dr. Despina Fruth Oprisan served as judge and President of the Administrative Litigation Section of the Bucharest Administrative Court for 14 years and since 1994, she has been in private practice. Currently she is partner of the Law firm "Fruth Oprisan & Associates" established in 2005, as a continuation of the law firm "Despina Fruth Oprisan, established in 1996.

Since 1994, Dr. Despina Fruth Oprisan has been acting as arbitrator for the International Commercial Arbitration Court pertaining to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania. Since 2009, she has been licensed as mediator.

In 2002, she obtained a doctorate diploma in civil procedure law for the University of Bucharest.

Dr. Fruth Oprisan has been the recipient of grants from NATO and from the British and US governments for study abroad and acted as expert for the Council of Europe.

Dr. Despina Fruth Oprisan has extensive commercial and civil law and litigation experience. Her specialties are merger and acquisitions, commercial and international commercial law, privatization, corporate and securities law, litigation, acting as counsel in large transactions involving multinational corporations. She has in-depth experience in the resolution of complicated and sophisticated commercial issues for foreign investors in Romania, particularly in the areas of equity investment and joint ventures.

Dr. Fruth Oprisan is the author of various articles and legal studies and of the published book on "The Judiciary Power and the Independence of the Judge". She participated in numerous domestic and international conferences and was lecturer for the Romanian National Institute for Magistrates.
