Kim Margaret Rooney

Kim Rooney is an international arbitrator and a barrister. Before leaving to become a barrister in September 2009 she was a partner of White & Case LLP and head of its international dispute resolution practice based in Hong Kong.
Kim regularly serves as an arbitrator and practices in international and Hong Kong arbitration and litigation. She is on the panel of arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre and is a CEDR accredited mediator.
Kim has represented both sovereign and private parties in many arbitrations involving commercial, infrastructure, investment and trade disputes before ICSID, the ICC, and CIETAC as well as in ad hoc arbitrations, and in the enforcement of arbitration awards
Kim is the Chair of the ICC Hong Kong Arbitration Committee, a member of the ICC Arbitration Commission and of the editorial board of “Dispute Resolution International”, among other bodies. She regularly speaks and writes about arbitration topics, including the Chinese and ASEAN investment treaty regimes, Hong Kong arbitration law and commercial arbitration.
Kim is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales, as a barrister in Hong Kong and as a barrister and solicitor in Western Australia.
