Dr. Francisco José Pascual Vives
Profile
Lecturer in Public International Law and International Economic Law at the University of Alcalá. He holds an LL.M. from the University of Alcalá and a Ph.D. on International Law from the University of Alicante. Jean Monnet Professor since 2013. He served as Law clerk at the International Court of Justice from 2009 to 2010.
He has authored numerous publications on the following topics: concept and foundations of public international law, creation of international rules, international human rights law, international investment law, and European Union law. As for international investment law, he has focused on the Spanish and Latin American treaty and arbitral practice as well as on the development of the European Union competence concerning foreign direct investments.
As a member of the research group "Public International Law, International Economic Law and European Union Law" of the University of Alcalá he offers consulting in matters related to Investor-State dispute management and arbitration to foreign investors and States.
