Marek Neumann
Profile
Marek Neumann is an attorney-at-law and a Managing Counsel at Dentons and member of Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution as well as Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy teams. He is also a member of the Arbitration Committee at the Lewiatan Court of Arbitration. Marek has advised corporates from different sectors (including FIG, FMCG, energy, entertainment, and production) in numerous litigation and arbitration disputes. He also regularly advises clients on transnational litigation issues. His experience includes:
- handling several post-M&A, banking, and infrastructure arbitration disputes, including under the ICC, UNCITRAL, and SAKIG rules;
- handling several New York Convention enforcement proceedings;
- advising renewable energy companies on disputes with contractors and remedies available in international investment law;
- advising financial institutions on disputes involving first demand bank guarantees;
- representing various financial institutions in several enforcement, restructuring, and bankruptcy-related matters;
- representing fund managers and private investment funds in several disputes with funds' participants and servicers;
- advising a Polish bank in a series of court disputes regarding export credit insurance;
- advising companies in disputes resulting from regulatory decisions, including of the Polish competition authority;
- representing a global production group in a dispute concerning settlement of CO2 emissions certificates;
- defending insurers in several class actions;
- advising clients from different sectors with sanctions-related issues; and
- advising Polish banks concerning mass consumer claims. Marek graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw in 2010 (top of class), where he taught classes in commercial and bankruptcy law and coached moot court teams for the FDI Moot, including the 2014 winners of the moot.
