Melanie Nadine Eckardt is a trainee at Shearman & Sterling and the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt, Germany, and specializes in international investment and commercial arbitration. She is a PhD candidate in the field of international investment and public international law at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany.
Ms. Eckardt studied law at the University of Passau, Germany, and at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and holds a diploma of Foreign Law & Language in English and French of the University of Passau. She holds a LL.M. degree in International Commercial Law from King's College London (2009). She has working experience as a research assistant in international commercial and investment arbitration, European Union and international trade law. She is fluent in German and English, and has a working knowledge of French and Kiswahili.
