Bruno Simma returned to the Law School in fall 2012 as a part-time professor of law after having served a nine-year term as a Judge at the International Court of Justice. Soon after his arrival, he was appointed as one of the three neutral Judges/Arbitrators of the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal at The Hague and will thus be on administrative leave starting with fall term 2013.
