Profile

Sylvia Tonova is a partner in the London office of Pinsent Masons. Sylvia concentrates her practice on the representation of States, state-owned, and private companies in investor-State and commercial arbitration proceedings.

Her experience includes arbitrations conducted under the rules of ICSID and the ICSID Additional Facility, UNCITRAL, the ICC, the LCIA, and the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC). In addition, Sylvia has experience advising clients on drafting arbitration clauses and structuring investments in view of investment treaty protections. Sylvia is a member of the peer review board of the ICSID Review - Foreign Investment Law Journal, serves as associate managing editor of the World Arbitration & Mediation Review, and has published and spoken on various topics in international arbitration and investment law.
