Shannon Copeland has been exploring the potential of data and technology in the governance, risk and compliance space for over 20 years. In doing so, he has designed, developed and launched a variety of innovative methods for the early detection of enterprise risk for companies in the construction, oil & gas, power generation and consumer products manufacturing sectors.
Shannon is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. law firm Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP where he helps lead strategy and operations for this fast growing firm. Prior to this, he was a Group COO and the firm's Director of Strategy for Kilpatrick Townsend LLP, a global law firm. Prior to joining Kilpatrick, Shannon was a senior manager in Corporate Strategy at Georgia-Pacific where he helped lead GP's efforts to navigate complex legal risks in a public company environment. Shannon began his career in Deloitte's management consulting practice.
Shannon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Wharton School. Shannon lives in Atlanta with his wife, Anna and their three children.
