David A. Lawson FCIArb, is a member of the California State Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and of the Section of Lawyers of Foreign Bars of the Ordre des Avocats de Geneve. His current position is Of Counsel to the law firm, Bonnard Lawson, with offices in Geneva, Lausanne, Shanghai, Dubai, Luxembourg and Paris. Dr Lawson received a D.Phil from Oxford University in Private International Law in 1974. Since 1987, when he returned to a private law practice in Geneva after some years as an in-house lawyer with Exxon Corporation and later the Inter Maritime Group, he has acted as party counsel, or as Arbitrator or Presiding Arbitrator, in many commercial international arbitrations with their seat in Geneva or other places around the world, under the arbitration rules of several arbitral institutions (ICC, Swiss Rules, LCIA, GAFTA, ICSID, SCC), as well as in ad-hoc arbitrations under the UNICTRAL Rules.
