Mgr. Zdeněk Nový LLM PhD is a senior lecturer in public international and European Union laws at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic. He practices law as an attorney as well.
Zdeněk Nový received his education in Brno, the Czech Republic (master and doctoral degrees), and Florence, Italy (LLM in international, EU and comparative laws).
His main interest in academic work as well as legal practice is in international investment and commercial arbitration, public international law and contract law. He regularly publishes in these and other areas connected to international trade and commercial law.
Zdeněk Nový was invited as a speaker to various conferences, including the University of Cambridge, International University College, University of Essex, and Universidad Loyola Andalucía.
He actively participated in workshops held in cooperation with WTO and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
Zdeněk Nový has taken part in a number of investment arbitration cases in his capacity of counsel or of counsel. He has also represented clients in international commercial arbitration and acted as an arbitrator in domestic cases.
