Dr. Mala Sharma

Dr Mala Sharma is a Lecturer in Law at the London South Bank University where she leads the Contract Law (LL.B) and International Sale of Goods (LL.M) modules and is the Course Director for the LL.M Legal Practice course. Mala completed her PhD research on reforming the investor-state arbitration system on a full scholarship from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Surrey, UK. While pursuing her PhD she was awarded the Law School Post Graduate Researcher of the Year Award and was nominated for the Vice-Chancellor's Research Excellence Award. She is also the recipient of the P.K. Das Memorial Gold Medal for being the best outgoing student in the Masters in Business Law programme from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, India. Mala holds an LL.M from the London School of Economics and completed her law degree from Bangalore University, India. Prior to embarking on her PhD, she worked in law firms in UK and India and taught at law schools in the Indian States of Assam and Gujarat. Mala's primary research interests are in the fields of dispute resolution, regulation, international arbitration, international commercial contracts, international investment law, human rights, and climate change.
