Mr. Juan Miguel Alvarez Contreras is a Lecturer and Researcher at the Business Law Department of the Universidad Externado de Colombia, as well as a partner in Roldan Uribe & Alvarez Abogados, a Colombian law firm which specializes in domestic and international arbitration and litigation, commercial and state contracts, administrative law, competition law, and international economic law. He has written extensively on international legal topics, such as international commercial contracts, international arbitration and international investment law.

Juan Miguel Alvarez Contreras holds a law degree from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, a LL.M in International Economic Law, Business and Policy from Stanford University, and a LL.M. in European and International Business Law from the University of Vienna.
