Dr. Mohammad Jafar Ghanbari-Jahromi

Dr Mohammad Jafar Ghanbari-Jahromi is born in 1958 and is currently a member of the Academic Board of the Faculty of Laws at Shahid Beheshti University. He was admitted to Tehran University in 1981 for a law degree and graduated in 1986 as a top student. He pursued his higher education in England and studied his L.L.M degree in the London School of Economics(LSE) between1988-89. He subsequently joined University College London and obtained his PhD degree in 1995. These courses were focused on international business transactions and public international law.
He returned back to Iran in 1997 and since then he has (as Associate Professor) been teaching various topics of international law chiefly at postgraduate level. He is responsible for the following courses: the "International Economic Law"; "Law of Translational Corporations" and "Private International Law". His main field of interest are: GATT/WTO system; International Law of Foreign Investment; International Commercial Law; International Business Transactions, Arbitration and, in general, "International rules and regulations applicable to international economic relations". Dr Jahromi has translated and published several articles and two book on these subjects and has long experience on international dispute settlement as consultant and director of Iran Presidency Centre for International Legal affairs (CILA).
