Professor Hilmar Raeschke-Kessler, Rechtsanwalt beim Bundesgerichtshof (member of the bar of the German Federal Court, 42 members only) has acted as chairman, arbitrator or counsel in numerous national and international arbitrations. He also represents clients before the Bundesgerichtshof in cases inter alia related to the enforcement or setting aside of arbitral awards.
He is member of the ICC-Commission on International Arbitration, Vice President of the German branch of the International Law Association, Past Vice President of the London Court of International Arbitration - European Users Council and Board Member of the German Arbitration Institution - DIS -. He has been member of the IBA-Working Group on the 1999 IBA-Rules of Evidence, their 2010 review and of the IBA-Working Group on Conflicts in International Arbitration. He is honorary professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Cologne, publishes frequently on issues of international arbitration and is fluent in German, English and French.
