Carla Lewis
Profile
Carla Lewis is a Senior Associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice of Clifford Chance LLP. Carla specialises in international arbitration and public international law, with a particular focus on EU and UK restrictive measures and international environmental law. Her work covers both international arbitrations conducted under the rules of the major institutions (e.g. LCIA, ICC and SIAC) and High Court litigation, as well as transaction support and risk management. Carla regularly advises clients on the potential sanctions risks entailed in proposed transactions, drafting suitable contractual protections, sanctions policies, and liaising with relevant competent authorities (where necessary).
Carla has represented a variety of governmental, non-governmental, corporate and individual clients, including conducting and coordinating the Firm's largest pro bono project to date on behalf of the UN Special Rapporteur for Human Rights and the Environment, for which the Firm's work was recognised for its contribution to the development of international environmental law by the Cyrus. R Vance Center for International Law. Carla is also the associate lead of Clifford Chance's Climate Change Litigation team.
