Ms. Gunday Sakarya is a partner in the International Dispute Resolution group of the New York office of Squire Patton Boggs. She speaks four languages and is dual-qualified in New York and Turkey. She has practiced in both jurisdictions for more than 10 years, advising governments, public and private entities in investment treaty and commercial arbitrations across a broad range of sectors, including telecommunications, construction, agroindustry and oil and gas.
Before joining Squire, Ms. Gunday Sakarya worked as an associate in the International Arbitration group of the Istanbul and New York offices of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, where she also served as counsel in international arbitrations and regulatory compliance matters.
Prior to joining Curtis, Ms. Gunday Sakarya worked as an associate for a Turkish law firm, primarily on mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and general corporate matters. She transitioned to international arbitration in Istanbul, which placed her in a distinctive position, geographically and culturally, to mainly represent clients in the CIS region, Middle East and Europe.
