Profile
Thiago Almeida is a Ph.D. researcher invited to the Faculty of Law of University of Geneva (UNIGE), Switzerland. He is also a Ph.D. student of International Investment Law at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil; an Associate Researcher at Jean Monnet Center of Excellence (Erasmus+ & UFMG); a Coordinator of the E3 - Étudies sur les Économies Émergentes / Studies on Emergent Economies (UNIGE & UFMG); Professor and Coordinator at the Center of Law and Business (CEDIN); and Attorney specialist in International Investment Law and Public-Private Partnerships.
Thiago was awarded with a full scholarship in the 1st Winter Course of The Hague Academy of International Law (2019). He is a career civil servant since 2011. He holds a Master in International Law at UFMG (2014); Bachelor in Law at UFMG (2012); Bachelor in Public Management at FJP (2010); and a Specialization in Economics at the University of Turin, Italy (2009).
The main areas of Thiago's expertise are International Investment Law, Law of International Organizations, Public Economic Law, PPPs and Prospection of Foreign Resources.
Thiago works as an advisor of the Vice-Governor of the State of Minas Gerais, and before he coordinated projects with resources from IDB and CAF for the Brazilian Healthcare System, and PPPs in the public sector.
