Bobby Banson Esq., FCIArb is described as a very dynamic and results-oriented legal practitioner. He is Founding Partner and Lead Consultant of Robert Smith Law Group where he spearheads the boutique law firm's businesses in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Investment Advisory, and Corporate Governance. With expertise in cross-border trade and investment, Bobby has provided legal services for national and multinational companies doing businesses in the West African sub-region across diverse industries including oil and gas, mining, manufacturing and retail, airline and aviation, construction, and real estate. Also, he has acted as Counsel for both businesses and governments in domestic and international arbitration.
Bobby's thought-leadership in transnational dispute management is seen in the speaker engagements he has done across the globe over the years at the invitation of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb.), the Africa International Legal Awareness (AILA), and the SOAS Conferences on Arbitration in Africa. He also has numerous publications to his name. Some of his recent publications discuss the implementation requirements of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the development of arbitration consciousness in Africa, and the enforcement of arbitral awards arising from international treaty agreements. Bobby is a lectuerer in Civil Procedure at the Ghana School of Law.
