Wojciech Giemza

Wojciech Giemza (LL.M) is a PhD candidate at the European University Institute (EUI) (Florence, Italy) working under the supervision of Professor Jürgen Kurtz. His research focuses on public international law, international economic law, dispute settlement and jurisprudence. His PhD project concerns the references to the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of International Justice in investment law and arbitration. He holds an a Master degree in law at the University of Warsaw. He is a founding member of the International Economic Law & Policy Working Group at the EUI and was an assistant editor at the European Journal of International Law (EJIL). He published in several international journals, including the Journal of World Investment & Trade and the European Journal of Legal Studies. He reviewed submissions for international journals, including the EJIL and the Asia Pacific Law Review. Before his PhD, he practiced several years in an internationally recognized law firm Woźniak Legal (Warsaw, Poland), advising international clients on their investments in Poland with respect to M&A, corporate, banking & finance, data protection and competition law issues. He has also been coaching the University of Warsaw teams in international moot court competitions (Jessup, FDI Moot).
