Ashish Jacob Mathew is a graduate in Business Administration and Law (Hons.) specialising in Commercial Laws (2012-17) from Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. He is a University Rank holder with Distinction in Law, an advocate based in India with 6 years' experience. He pursued his Master of Laws in International Trade Law (2018-19) focusing on international contracts and dispute settlement jointly organised by United Nations Commission for International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and University of Turin at the International Training Centre of ILO, Torino, Italy.
Passionate towards working in areas of regulatory affairs, negotiation, commercial law and dispute resolution. Has experience of working for Indian domestic policy briefs on Commercial Courts Act with Centre for Public Policy and Research, Kochi, India and also assisted Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Indian Intellectual Property Policy 2015. Special Rapporteur for Commercial Law Conference for South Asian Judges at National Judicial Academy, India. Part of Diplomacy Panel of Harvard University Project on Asian International Relations in 2016 to discuss certain economic bilateral disputes between China and other south asian countries. Worked as International Trainee at Bali International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Indonesia under the mentorship of Dr. Harald Sippel.
For the past three years, Ashish Jacob Mathew was working as Legal Consultant for the Secretary and CEO, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India assisting them in-house legal disputes/policy matters and working with the drafting team to prepare Institutional Rules for the ICSI International ADR Centre. Presently, he is a practising Advocate based in New Delhi with Mr. Dama Seshadri Naidu, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India.
