Ben Niu
Profile
Ben Niu specialises in commercial dispute resolution, including international commercial litigation and arbitration. His international arbitration experience includes working at King & Wood Mallesons on an ICC case between a Chinese SOE and a French company over an energy dispute. Ben presented his research on international arbitration at the Joint Arbitration Seminar in Paris from 29 February to 1 March 2024.
With over five years of experience learning and practising law, Ben has honed his basic legal skills. He is also keen on providing legal pro bono services to people in need. From October 2023 to March 2024, he served as a legal consultant for Baker McKenzie on a legal pro bono project, where he used legal thinking to look into clients' needs and conducted a survey for better service.
He is pursuing an LL.M. in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary University of London, where he received a systematic education in international arbitration. He received a Juris Doctor (U.S. law) and a Juris Master (Chinese law) at Peking University in 2023, where he was awarded a Merit Student and Dean's Citations in multiple courses. He also earned a B.A. from Dalian University of Technology, where he was awarded a national scholarship and an honourable graduate degree.
