Dr. Saheed Abudu is a researcher and lawyer specializing in Energy and Natural Resources Law and International Investment Law. He holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree in Energy and Natural Resources Law from Tulane University, USA, a Master's degree in Oil & Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen, and an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Northampton, United Kingdom.

Saheed's doctoral thesis, titled "Balancing the Right to Regulate with Investment Protection: A Review of Recent Decarbonization Measures (2024)," discusses the implications of decarbonization measures on energy investments and how the interplay between states' right to regulate and investors' rights under investment treaties is addressed in modern treaties and by arbitral tribunals.

Before earning his doctorate in 2024, Saheed interned with Alaska's Department of Law (Oil and Gas Section) and practiced as an energy lawyer at one of the largest firms in Africa. He has experience in regulatory compliance, assignment of oil and gas interests, upstream and downstream oil and gas transactions, and energy dispute resolution.
