Manal Shify is a Solicitor (Scotland), Notary Public, and a member of the Public Policy Committee of the Law Society of Scotland. She holds an LLM with Merit from the University of Strathclyde. She previously practised law in Syria before qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland. Her research interests include international commercial arbitration, international trade law, sanctions, and public policy. Her article in Transnational Dispute Management examines sanctions as international public policy and the enforcement of arbitral awards under Article V(2)(b) of the New York Convention.
