Omar E. Garcia-Bolivar, President BG Consulting, Inc. Member of the panel of arbitrators to the Internacional Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and listed as arbitrator with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Abogado "cum laude", Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas, Venezuela, 1987; Post-graduate studies in Political Science, Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela, 1989; LL.M, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, 1992; M.Phil. and Ph.D. studies in Law and Foreign Investment, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, 1997 as "chevening" scholar.

He has been Professor at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas, Venezuela; Universidad Central de Venezuela; and Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración, Caracas, Venezuela. He is Professional Fellow of the Law Institute of the Americas at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. Omar has lectured at Georgetown University Law School, The George Washington University, American University, Harvard University, the Washington D.C. Bar and the Interamerican Bar Association.

He is also Chair of the Inter-American Legal Affairs Committee of the International Law Section of the Washington, D.C. Bar. He is listed in the Marquis Who's Who in American Law 2005. Omar is member of the council of advisors of Gerson Lehrman Group.

In addition to being a lawyer and arbitrator, Omar is a consultant on public policy for developing countries. Recently he has been working as a consultant of USAID on commercial law issues for the United Nations High Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor.

He has published extensively on issues of international investment arbitration, corporate law, Latin American legal systems and commercial legal reform.

Omar is admitted to practice law in Venezuela, New York, Washington, D.C and the United States Court of International Trade.

BG Consulting Inc, a consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. specialized in development policies, business development and investment disputes. BG Consulting provides both pre-arbitration negotiations assistance and counsel to arbitration hearings to both Business and Governments.
