David R. Haigh

David R. Haigh is a senior partner with the Calgary law firm of Burnet Duckworth & Palmer LLP where he has practiced as a commercial litigation counsel in the Canadian courts and as an arbitrator in the field of international commercial arbitration. He was first called to the bar of Alberta in 1965 and has also, from time to time, been called to the bars of other jurisdictions. He has served as an arbitrator on numerous international commercial arbitration panels. He has, in addition, acted as counsel on a wide variety of arbitration claims, including ad hoc, institutional, private and investor-state disputes. David served as the national chairman of the Canadian ICC Committee for 6 years and he is a director of the American Arbitration Association. David has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators for several years and is now a Chartered Arbitrator. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
