Before joining United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Melaku Geboye Desta was a Professor of International Economic Law at the Leicester De Montfort Law School. Prior to that, he worked at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, Scotland, for over twelve years.
