Philippe Ruttley

Philippe Ruttley is a dual Swiss and British national, educated at French and English schools and then at Universities in England and Italy. He qualified in 1980 and was a Stagiaire in the Legal Service of the European Commission. After a period practicing EC law in Brussels, he worked as a legal counsel on UN development projects in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and was then an adviser on EC and international law at HM Treasury Solicitors. He returned to private practice in 1989, specialising in EC competition and international trade law.
