Introduction
The year 2007 saw a continuation of the pace of new filings the world has seen in recent
years, with at least 46 new arbitrations filed. Filings at the ICSID continue on pace with their
earlier filing rates, while we now begin to see mention of some of the filings in other fora. The
reader should note that because visibility of non ICSID filings is limited, thee true number of
investment cases filed is likely higher.
