Introduction

In May, 2007, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes announced that the World Bank had received from Bolivia a written notice of denunciation of the Washington Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States. In accordance with Article 71 of the ICSID Convention, "[a]ny Contracting State may denounce this Convention by written notice to the depositary of this Convention.
