Introduction

Are men or women better skilled at mediation in general? And is there any evidence to suggest that women or men are naturally more skilled at mediation? These were the questions which surfaced recently in an online discussion group of international arbiters and dispute resolution specialists. Teasing out the various themes of this discussion is enlightening for the way that we approach gender in conflict resolution, and the field of conflict resolution in general.
