Editorial, Volume IX, issue #03 - April 2012

Article from: TDM 3 (2012), in Editorial

Introduction

In this first regular issue of 2012 we cover a variety of topics as usual.

This issue includes the first installment of the "Russian and CIS Arbitration Network (RCAN) Supplement" written by RCAN members. RCAN is an initiative founded in London in July 2011 which seeks to bring together arbitration practitioners, scholars and business people with an interest in Russian and CIS arbitration (more info at www.rcan.com). The issue also includes a number of presentations given during the Warsaw Conference on Confidentiality vs. Transparency in International Arbitration held last year, which took place at the University of Warsaw.

Other highlights of this issue include contributions by Professors Leon E. Trakman, Christoph H. Schreuer and Rudolf Dolzer.

Going forward in 2012, we have a number of special features in preparation:

Prof. Dr. Ursula Kriebaum will edit a TDM Special Issue on "Aligning Human Rights and Investment Protection". This special will analyse the possibility of courts and tribunals operating in the fields of human rights and international investment protection to take into account the concerns of the other field of law. See the call for papers here for more details: www.transnational-dispute-management.com/news.asp?key=445.

Other topics we will address in Special Issues are "Dispute Resolution from a Corporate Perspective", "Tobacco Claims", "Corruption and Arbitration" and the "Evolving relationship between Courts and Arbitration". Keep an eye on the TDM website and (Young-)OGEMID for the calls for papers.
